Coweta County School System graduation ceremonies

2017 Vals and Sals (small)High school commencement ceremonies for Coweta County’s graduating seniors cap off the school system’s final week of the academic year.

The Coweta County School System’s school year ends on Friday, May 26. Newnan High School holds graduation exercises on Thursday evening, May 25, followed by Northgate High School on Friday evening, May 26, and East Coweta High School, on the morning of Saturday, May 27.

East Coweta High will offer shuttle bus service to and from Shoemake Stadium on May 27, starting at 7:15 a.m., with secure parking offered at Lee Middle and Poplar Road Elementary Schools.

The Central Educational Center Dual-Enrollment Commencement Exercises, Wednesday, May 24, 7:00 p.m. at the Centre for Performing and Visual Arts. Students from all three base high schools who have earned Technical Certificates of Credit and high school credit through dual-enrollment in West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) courses at CEC will be recognized.

Newnan High School Graduation, Thursday, May 25, Drake Stadium, 7:30 p.m. Newnan High School expects approximately 490 graduates to be honored during this year’s May 25 commencement ceremony. Click here to see a list of anticipated graduates.

Northgate High School Graduation, Friday, May 26, Henry Seldon Field, 7:30 p.m.  Northgate High School expects approximately 414 graduates to be honored during their May 26 commencement ceremony. Click here to see a list of anticipated graduates.

East Coweta High School Graduation, Saturday, May 27, Shoemake Stadium, 9:00 a.m. East Coweta High School expects approximately 615 graduates to be honored during this year’s May 27 commencement ceremony. Click here to see a list of anticipated graduates.

Attendees are advised to arrive early for parking and seating. In the event of rain, all three high schools have alternative indoor ceremony plans in place, and the schools issue a limited number of tickets for graduating seniors to distribute to family and attendees.

For East Coweta High School’s Saturday morning graduation ceremonies, the school is offering the use of buses to transport people to and from off-site parking and Shoemake Stadium.

Shuttle bus service will be offered from Lee Middle School School and Poplar Road Elementary School on May 27. People attending graduation can park at these sites and ride buses to the campus starting at 7:00 a.m., and buses will continue until all participants are back at their cars. The parking sites will be staffed with deputies for security purposes and volunteers that will assist with parking vehicles.
